For Sale: Aged, Dry Native Arizona Velvet Mesquite in Assorted Sizes
I sold
my woodshop in 2019 and this mesquite is the remaining inventory of my
custom door business. All the wood has been aged and dried for 12 years
and can be used immediately.
I made many 8' - 10' high mesquite entry doors using 12/4 mesquite so
the wood had to be air dried for at least 4 years before I would use it.
I expected all my doors to last 200 years and using dry mesquite with
tradional mortise and tenon joinery assured they would last.
The inventory consists of 12/4, 8/4 and 4/4 native Arizona velvet mesquite lumber in 8', 10' and 12' lengths in varying widths with quite a few bookmatched slabs.
The hard part is placing a value on this mesquite package because I don't have an accurate count. The developer wanted to close on my building a month early and I had a lot to clear out after 39 years. Two different crews moved the mesquite over two days, we were in "get it done" mode instead of "measure and photograph each board" mode.
The shipping
container is 8' x 20' x 8' high (1280 cu. ft.)
The mesquite volume
looks like 700 cu. ft.
With 12 bd. ft. in a cubic ft the container has 8,400 bd. ft. of mesquite.
After measuring there will be less but it is a starting point.
Price per board foot will be more than I paid but less than retail. I want everyone to be able to make money.
Much of this mesquite is unavailable elsewhere at any price because it is long, dead dry and premium quality.
Before anyone asks, no I am not unloading the shipping container so you can look at that wide, 12' long board on the bottom.
But... I will sell boards off the top.
